  1. Kia ora Julius,

It really was so sad to read about the whales, wasn't it? I have to admire the incredible work that the locals did to try and save the beached whales. I hope that, next year, the whales are able to avoid swimming so close to shore and, instead, stay out in the deep water.

I had the chance to watch whales swimming in the ocean a few years ago and it was just magical. My son, Aronui, and I were staying in Tonga and we saw an entire pod of whales go by one day. We both stopped making our sandcastles and just stood and watched them. I have never seen anything quite so spectacular as a family of whales swimming and splashing together!

Have you ever seen whales swimming in the ocean?

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Julius. It's wonderful to have you participating in the Winter Learning Journey programme this year!

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  2. Kia Ora,
I'm Ayesha from Grey Main School in the Mamaku Hub. It's terrible to think about this happening to whales but it is a good thing that people help.

This reminds me of a time when there was some beached whales on the news. I'm pretty sure it sounded a lot like what you have written down here because lots of people helped with getting water and more things like that.

Maybe next time you could add in some more information about how this happens, what happens to the whales and more things like that.

Would you spare some of your time to help a beached whale, Do some whales die from this and why did you write about this subject?

    1. Hello Ayesha,
it's Julius from St Patrick's School, I'm replying to the question you asked about sparing time for whales and yes I would, because it is sad to leave a beached whale lying there and they are magnificent and graceful creatures and I maybe should next time, add some more information.
