Geronimo goes on a crash course for saving money!

This story is about a mouse named Geronimo Stilton who goes finds out that he has no money so his grandfather puts him on a crash course with Miserly Parisimouse. On the first day, they explore mouldy manor. Then on the second day, they visit thrifty city and on the last day Geronimo has an exam.

The day after the exam, his grandfather told him that he now had money in his account and teaches not waste his money again.

My favourite part was when he had money in his bank account and then had to go on a crash course to learn how to look after his money.

We are learning to develop understanding of the text/book that we read.

Museum of awesomeness!

On Sunday after church, I went out with my uncle Michael to the Museum. We were going there because we wanted to look at some very old artefacts. When we arrived there we went inside and went to the reception.

My uncle Michael showed his passport  to the receptionist and she let us in for free because we live in Auckland. We were so lucky that we are able to go in free.

The first exhibit that we saw was of the Maori culture. There were a lot of cool things like a whole replica of of a Maori village.

The next place that we went was the old school exhibit. We saw a lot of old pictures, an old blackboard, a feather  and a slideshow. We even saw an old picture of Saint Patrick's school.

Next we finished off our visit with the volcano exhibit. At the exhibit there was an simulation house of a real volcano eruption. I really wanted to check it out, but a red light had a sign that said 'Do not enter', This meant we had to wait for 12 minutes, So Michael and I patiently waited for the simulation to end.

While we were waiting,  we were looking at the cutaways, diagrams and pictures of volcano and reading the descriptions.

After a while, the green light showing for the next groups so we went in. When we went inside, the television was on showing the news, I felt really bored was on for a long time. So I started  looking in to the sliding which had a screen behind it showing an ocean and lots of houses.

After a while, an explosion occurred on the screen. It was an underwater volcano and a cloud of ash was heading straight towards us. Lucky it wasn't real.

After a while, the simulation finished, so Michael and I ended our visit   and went home.

I had fun at the museum, my favourite part was the simulation because it was scary, but I was able to experience what an earthquake can feel like. I hope we can visit the museum again soon.

We are learning to understand and use descriptive language in our writing.
I know I can do this when I choose appropriate adjectives to describe my weekend.

The ShakeOut drill can save people's lives!


We are learning to understand ShakeOut through the Inquiry process.
I know I can do this when I ask 5 questions about ShakeOut and research online to find the answers.

Holidays are awesome!

In the holidays, on the first week of the holidays, on Thursday, I played Minecraft on my Xbox360.

All the animals were upside down in the Minecraft game, I tried to get back to normal, but it was no use. I tried everything. Then I noticed that they were all name 'Dinnerbone'. I didn't know why they were named that, so I changed the name all of the animals into 'jeb-'.

Soon all the animals were back to normal, but something was going on with the sheep. I thought that was really funny. Then my uncle called me to go to him because we were going bowling.

So I quickly grabbed, my hat and scurried outside where where my uncle, Jenna, and my dad waiting.
I quickly hopped into my uncle's car and we drove off to AFM bowling.

When we arrived, we went inside and went to the reception to book two lanes for us.

Soon we had two lanes plus unlimited time for bowling. We sorted out the lanes that we were going to bowl in, Jenna and I and my dad were in the left lane.

The first people up to bowl was my uncle and Jenna. They both bowled at the same time, Jenna's ball hit eight pins and my uncle bowled a strike. Then it was me and my dad's turn but we didn't bowl at the same time. My ball hit nine pins and my dad got a strike and reached the same stage as Michael.

After a while, we finished our games and I came in last place.
I had fun at AFM bowling. I hope we can go there again so I can come in first place.
