So this is how games are made!

Games are in everyday life and keep people entertained/occupied, but what some people don't know is how games are made.

Game ideas are created by people’s imagination, made into detailed stories, then created in computerised animation. Characters are made first. They are created through drawings/sketchings, important characters are drawn and improved until creators are satisfied.

Then scans are taken or people's movements are captured then mapped from a computer into realistic motion in the actual game, it is pretty amazing how you can do that in the process of making a game.

All worlds, terrains, maps in each and every game texture is made up of polygons. A polygon is basically areas which need texture to be applied to it, to give it a more realistic look. The method that is most used for this is texture mapping.

Texture mapping is basically an image of texture to be applied to a polygon, gaming equipment,(e.g gaming console etc), have a special chip and memory, that store the special information needed for texture mapping. They are then applied to each polygon in the game world to give it more realistic environment.

Not noticed or seen by gamers/players, but is everything that controls the game, is a code. Codes are a set of computer instructions to make a game work. Most games are with custom codes, based on C programming. Code engines are used to make the complex codes needed for the polygon's texture.

Then when the game is finished, it goes through hard testing and review, any problems or bugs in the system, it would be fixed right away. Then finally put through distribution.

Technicraft!

Technicraft
Today at Technicraft cooking class, everyone made Jam and spreads, my partner was Cheska and we were making raspberry Jam, First, we got ourselves organized. We got the saucepan, chopping board, measuring spoons etc, then followed our design brief that we made last week.

Before we got our sugar and tartaric acid, we had to warm up jar for when we put the jam in it, so we put it in the oven. After that we got the sugar and the acid ready, we then put one cup of raspberries in the pan, waited until its juices runs out, then we added the sugar and acid so it could fully dissolve.
We then mixed thoroughly. At that moment the jar was hot and ready, so Cheska pull it out with the oven mitts, next we poured the jam in the jar, and we were finished. We then cleaned up our table and wiped its artwork and we were finished before everyone else.

Book review!

Take care of your pet!

Pets are companions through thick and thin, any kind kind of animal could be your pet/friend (except alligators, lions etc.), it could be a parrot, rabbit, toucan, cat or dog or hamster.

Pets should be constantly be cared for, for example, wash them regularly,, feed them two meals a day with water.
Pets should not be neglected or they will either run away or die.

People have pets for many reasons. For example, the police have dogs to check baggage for methanol or any kind of drugs, or chase a runaway criminal, or blind people have guide dogs so they can guide them on the right path.

Possibilities are endless when coming down to pets, especially when they are most needed but responsibilities come with pets as well.

WALT review the structure of an explanation.

Technicraft fun!

Today at Technicraft, we were in cooking class. Our teacher was Mrs. plows, the same teacher from last year. The first thing we had learnt from her was the rules which was showing courtesy, having respect for the teacher,(e.g, No answering back), always put cooking materials back to original place and Participate and contribute with others.

Then we gathered information on refrigerator storage and how we can preserve our food. For example , not placing raw steak near cooked steak, because it would cause cross contamination, its when bacteria is transferring to the cooked steak, putting raw steak on the top shelf with the cooked steak at the bottom, the steak would still be contaminated because the blood from the meat would seep through on top of the steak.

We then, (after morning tea), made our design brief on jam. Our design brief was on how we make a jam look, (Decorations, etc.), my jam design, was that I would put a piece of material bigger than the jar and put it on top of the jar, then wrap a red ribbon around it and attach a little card to it.

As soon it was done it was time to go, I really enjoyed the first day, I hope next time, it would be even better.

Welcome to 2017!
